Unlock the future of employee engagement at the Best Employers 2025 launch conference

Best Employers Eastern Region is a much-loved employee engagement programme. It exists to help all types of organisations across the eastern region boost employee engagement while learning from each other. Co-created by professional recruiters, Pure and psychometrics experts eras, the programme cultivates positive and inclusive workplace cultures and builds connections. It all begins with our launch conference.

Why attend?

The launch conference is a unique chance for organisations to find new ways to make the most of the employee engagement survey at the heart of Best Employers.

We have an exciting line-up of guest speakers. They’ll share their own employee engagement experiences and strategies, giving you the inside track on what they’ve learned – both good and bad.

Whether you’re new to Best Employers or a seasoned pro, we guarantee you’ll come away with lots of practical advice and inspiration to get the most from your survey results.

You’ll also be able to discuss your organisation’s engagement challenges and priorities for 2025, and network with peers old and new.

About the speakers

Nick Skinner, experienced Chief People Officer and previously Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Abcam
‘Engagement – how motivated people power growth’

Nick will share his experience of working at one of Cambridge’s fastest growing biotechs. He’ll tell us about how they’ve created a truly innovative and nimble culture.

Cambridge Building Society
A Best Employers story

Cambridge Building Society has taken part in Best Employers for several years, improving their scores each year. In 2024 they won the Employer of the Year award at the Cambridge Independent Business Awards too.

CEO Peter Burrows and Head of People Victoria Filler will explain how they’ve modernised their culture, increasing engagement and improving business performance.

Susannah Clements, an experienced People Director
‘Work with what you’ve got – how to build your own unique engagement strategy’

Susannah will use her years of experience at organisations like Anglian Water and the CIPD to discuss ways to develop a personalised approach to employee engagement. She’ll give us lots of practical advice on building engagement and trust, and improving retention in a way that aligns with your organisation’s culture and goals.

The morning will end with a panel discussion. Our speakers will be joined by Sharon Allen, CEO of this year's chosen charity Arthur Tank Hospice and Chloe Ludkin, Communications and Engagement Executive at Treatt plc.

Lynn Walters, co-founder and Director of Pure, said: ‘Each year, we strive to enhance the format of the conference and speaker line-up to make the launch conference an inspiring and uplifting experience. This year speakers bring a remarkable range of expertise and diverse perspectives. It will be an invaluable morning, designed to inspire and equip you with new ways to fully harness the potential of the Best Employers programme. We're also very grateful to our sponsors Birketts and Mobas, who make this programme possible.’
