Supporting our communities: introducing our newest charity partner, CWRC

Taking care of and supporting the communities we work in is a central part of our environmental, social and governance (ESG) policy. One of the ways we do that is by raising money for charity – in fact, we’ve donated over £196,000 since 2002. As part of this, every year each of our offices chooses a charity to support. For 2024 to 2025, our Cambridge office have chosen the Cambridge Women’s Resources Centre (CWRC).

Here’s some more information on who they are and how we’re supporting them.

Why CWRC?

Run by and for the women of Cambridge, CWRC has been providing vital support and resources for over 40 years. They help women facing poverty, homelessness, violence and abuse, and those involved with the criminal-justice system. They do that by offering a safe environment for education and employability classes, domestic-abuse survival programmes, creative courses and wellbeing activities. They also give women personalised practical advice and emotional support.

Recently, CWRC have seen a sharp increase in demand for their services, as well as higher costs. But their funding hasn’t risen to match. That means they need the support of their community more than ever.

How are we helping?

We’ve already donated over £493 from ticket sales for two of our events:

  • the HR Development Programme: £360
  • the Finance Leadership Programme: £132

We also have lots of exciting fundraising plans for the future. Like donating the money we would have spent on Christmas cards this year, and from the Pure Cambridge charity quiz 2025. Our Cambridge team also plan to take on lots of their own challenges. This includes running the Cambridge half-marathon, as well as organising fundraising events (like bake sales).

It’s not just about money though. We’ll also be donating our time to CWRC. For example, we’ll be collecting clothes and toiletries to take to the centre, and also volunteering there.

Running our business the right way

The work we do for charity is only one part of our commitment to improve our workplaces, the environments and communities we live and work in, and the world as a whole.

You can read about how we’re working to become better citizens in our ESG statement.
