Investing in the future – exclusive development opportunities that go beyond recruitment

Matching people looking for work with employers is our bread and butter – and it’s something we do very well. But we want to go even further. That’s why we’ve teamed up with experts from across the east of England to create and run exclusive development programmes and events.

These programmes:

  • help people reach their full potential and be the best they can be
  • give businesses more chances to thrive and flourish
  • offer knowledge and expertise that will grow the talent pool in the eastern region.

Why do we do this?

We’re a responsible business. Because of that we have an environmental, social and governance statement, which is our commitment to being good people, and changing for the better. Our development programmes and events are a big part of this. They help create positive change which will improve workplaces, the environments and communities we’re part of, and ultimately, the world as a whole.

Our programmes

We have several different programmes and events which run throughout the year – you can see them all on our events page. This September we launched our latest Finance Leadership and HR Development Programmes. Through these we’ve helped almost 100 people develop new skills and knowledge.

This autumn we’re looking forward to welcoming people to:

  • HR Energy, which gives HR professionals the chance to learn and develop new skills, listen to expert speakers and network with colleagues
  • the People Leaders Lab, a unique opportunity for people working in HR to get insights from experts and learn from real workplace examples
  • the Women’s Leadership Programme gala dinner, where we’ll be celebrating 10 years of championing women in business.

Partnering for positive change

We work with many amazing organisations from across our region to bring you these unique opportunities. These include:

  • Grant Thornton, one of the world’s largest professional services networks of independent accounting and consulting member firms
  • Birketts, a full-service UK top 50 law firm
  • Larking Gowen, one of the biggest accountants and business advisory firms in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex
  • Mills & Reeve, a leading aw firm offering a full range of legal services.

We also work with individual consultants and experts. Like Karen Saunders, a coach, mentor, facilitator and HR consultant, and owner of KS Coaching and Consulting. And Ros Stephens, a coach, trainer and HR consultant.

Giving back

Another big part of our commitment to positive change includes working with local charities. That’s why we donate the ticket fees from our programmes to good causes. So when you come to a session you’ll not only get access to unique personal development opportunities – you’ll also be giving back to the wider community.

This year just some of the charities we’ve donated fees to are:

  • SARS, Suffolk’s emergency medical charity
  • Cambridge Women’s Resources Centre, a charity that supports, trains and encourages women seeking positive change for themselves and their families
  • Leeway, which provides free and confidential support to anyone experiencing domestic abuse
  • Trust Links, an Essex-based charity aiming to improve mental health, wellbeing and the environment.
