Become the change you want with the Women’s Leadership Programme
Are you a professional woman wanting to build your confidence and strengthen your capabilities? Or a business leader looking for innovative ways to empower your female staff? Banish gender barriers, unleash potential and nurture leadership skills on our development programme designed exclusively for women. Here’s Christina Youell, founder and facilitator, with a whistle-stop tour of the Women’s Leadership Programme.
I’ve been championing the development of female leaders for many years now. That’s one of the reasons why I love the Women’s Leadership Programme. It gives women a safe space to develop the skills they need to take their careers to the next level.
How does it work?
We’ve designed the programme to help women:
- build self-awareness and manage their personal brands
- conquer imposter syndrome and societal bias
- stop unconsciously self-sabotaging
- develop their career mindsets and get their voices heard
- build flexibility and agility in their leadership styles, and influence others
- navigate power and politics successfully at work
- build and sustain high-performing teams.
The results
We change the programme’s specific content every year, but one thing always stays the same – anyone who attends goes away feeling more confident and skilled, and with a much greater appreciation of who they are as a leader. In fact, of the more than 120 women we’ve taken through it since it started in 2014, well over half have moved into bigger roles within their organisations.
Another great thing about our programme is that it’s created a network of women supporting women, as attendees stay in touch long after it’s over, sharing advice, experience and success stories. And studies show that women who support women in these types of groups have better success in business, and are more likely to get executive positions. So it really is a win-win.
In her own words
I’ve met so many inspiring women during my time running the programme. And several of them credit it with helping them go on to bigger and better things. For example:
- Tracey Gloyne from Beckett Investment management, who was promoted not long after taking part in the programme, and now heads up a team of 25
- Carolyn Isom, Chief Financial Officer at Titon, used the skills she learned on the programme to get more influence over decisions about her future at the company
- Ceri Yates, Director of Sales at Stephen Walters, says the programme’s boosted her confidence in her own abilities
- Rebecca Davies from Lintbells says the programme helped her get promoted from HR Manager to Head of Human Resources and Legal
- Jo Stansfield from AVEVA learned how to tackle the extra responsibilities that came with a promotion
- Marianne Carter, Director of Conservation Capacity and Leadership at Fauna & Flora International, gained new skills to help her address the challenge of gender equality across the conservation sector.
